Reverse description Athena Nikephoros seated left upon a throne, her figure clad in flowing drapery, holding in her outstretched right hand a winged Nike who faces left and crowns the royal name inscribed in the field. Athena's left arm rests upon a large round shield decorated with a lion's head boss, leaning against the throne. A long transverse spear is visible behind her. The royal legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ is disposed in two lines framing the central figure, reading 'of King Lysimachus.' Control monograms appear in the inner left field and on or below the throne, serving as mint or magistrate marks characteristic of the Sestos issue.
