| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, wearing the horn of Ammon above his ear, rendered in the idealized Hellenistic portrait style. The hair is elaborately arranged in thick, flowing locks swept back from the forehead and falling in voluminous waves around the neck, conveying divine majesty. The facial features are finely articulated, with a strong brow, prominent nose, and slightly parted lips characteristic of the Alexander portrait type established by Lysippos. The entire effigy is set within a plain raised border, occupying the full flan with commanding high relief. No legend appears on the obverse. |
