| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander III to right, rendered in the idealized Hellenistic portrait tradition with flowing, tousled hair and a diadem secured across the brow. A small but clearly rendered horn of Ammon curves upward above the right ear, signifying Alexander's divine association with Zeus-Ammon. The portrait is executed in high relief with finely detailed hair locks and a smooth, youthful facial treatment characteristic of the Pergamene die-cutting school. No legend appears on the obverse; the field is plain and unencumbered, allowing the portrait to dominate the flan. |
