Reverse description Athena Nikephoros seated left upon a throne, holding a winged Nike in her extended right hand, the Nike facing left and appearing to crown the royal legend; Athena's left arm rests upon a large round shield decorated with a lion's head boss. A long transverse spear leans behind the figure. A race torch adorned with fillets appears in the inner left field. A maeander pattern decorates the exergue. The legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ (of King Lysimachus) is disposed in two lines flanking the seated figure, and on some specimens an ornament appears on the throne.
