Obverse description Diademed head of the deified Alexander III of Macedon facing right, depicted with the ram's horn of Ammon curling above the ear, asserting his divine status. The portrait exhibits finely rendered flowing hair swept back from the forehead in characteristic Lysimachean style, with deeply modelled facial features and a prominent brow. A beaded border encircles the design field. No legend appears on the obverse, the portrait itself serving as the principal identifying device.
