| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander III of Macedon facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with flowing, voluminous hair swept back from the brow. The ram's horn of Ammon curls prominently above the right ear, asserting Alexander's divine status as son of Zeus-Ammon. The diadem is tied at the nape, with its ends trailing behind.
