| Reverse description | Athena Nikephoros seated left upon a throne, her left arm resting on a large round shield decorated with a facing gorgoneion, while a transverse spear rises diagonally in the background behind her. In her extended right hand she holds a small Nike (Victory) figure. An aphlaston (naval trophy) appears in the outer left field, and a monogram is placed in the inner left field. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ ('of King Lysimachus') runs along the right side of the field, asserting royal authority in the standard formulaic titulature of the Diadochi. |
