| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with flowing curls framing the face. A prominent ram's horn of Ammon curves behind the ear, denoting Alexander's divine association with the Egyptian god Zeus-Ammon. The portrait is boldly executed in high relief, with naturalistic musculature and an idealised, heroic countenance. A beaded border runs along the coin's periphery. No legend appears on the obverse. |
