Obverse description Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, portrayed with flowing, deeply modeled curly hair and the characteristic ram's horn of Zeus Ammon curling behind the ear, a dynastic iconographic device asserting divine legitimacy. The portrait is rendered in the fine Hellenistic style, with an idealized yet powerful physiognomy. A dotted border encircles the design field, and the flan displays the typical irregular outline of a hand-struck ancient silver coin. No legend appears on the obverse, the portrait itself serving as the sole identifying device.
