Obverse description Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with deeply modelled flowing locks and characteristic anastole at the brow. The king wears the curved horn of Ammon curling behind the ear, asserting his divine lineage and identification with Zeus-Ammon. A beaded dotted border frames the entire field. The effigy displays fine die-cutting with high relief, conveying idealized heroic features typical of the Lysimachean coinage.
