Obverse description Diademed head of the deified Alexander III (the Great) facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with idealized portraiture. The hair falls in richly modeled locks framing the face, and a prominent horn of Ammon curls above the right ear, signifying divine status. The diadem is tied at the back, its ends visible behind the neck. The portrait occupies the full field of the flan, with no inscription on the obverse.
