Obverse description Diademed head of the deified Alexander III (the Great) facing right, portrayed with the ram's horn of Ammon curling behind his ear, asserting his divine status as son of Zeus-Ammon. The effigy displays finely rendered flowing hair swept back from the forehead and gathered in characteristic Hellenistic style, with expressive facial features executed in high relief. A dotted border encircles the field. No legend appears on the obverse.
