Obverse description Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with flowing, elaborately curled hair swept back from the brow. A prominent horn of Ammon curls behind the ear, signifying Alexander's divine association with Zeus-Ammon. The portrait is executed with high relief and naturalistic modeling, capturing the idealized heroic features characteristic of the Lysimachan coinage tradition. The diadem is tied at the back, its ends visible among the flowing locks.
