| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, portrayed with the ram's horn of Ammon curling above and behind his ear, identifying him with the Egyptian god Zeus-Ammon. The portrait reflects the Hellenistic tradition of ruler iconography, with fine engraving of the diadem ends falling behind the neck.
