Obverse description Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with flowing curly locks framing the face. The prominent horn of Ammon curls conspicuously above the ear, asserting Alexander's divine association with the Egyptian god Zeus-Ammon. The portrait is executed with confident, high-relief engraving characteristic of early Lysimachan coinage, with idealised facial features including a slightly parted mouth and a strong, youthful profile. The diadem is tied at the back of the head, its ends falling behind the neck. No legend appears on the obverse.
