Reverse description A crab shown in high relief from above, with prominent claws raised and eight legs splayed symmetrically, positioned at the centre of a square incuse field bordered by a beaded dotted frame. Above the crab, the magistrate's name ΛΥΣΙΧΟΣ is inscribed along the upper margin within the incuse square. Below the crab, the ethnic ΚΩΙΟΝ is inscribed horizontally. The incuse square is recessed and divided into an upper compartment containing the crab and legends, and a plain lower compartment. The design is a hallmark of Koan silver coinage of this period.
