| Obverse description | Youthful laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in fine high-relief engraving characteristic of the Chalkidean League's celebrated die-cutters. The hair is elaborately styled in loose curling locks beneath a wreath of laurel leaves, with strands falling softly to the nape of the neck. The facial features are idealized and serene, with a straight Hellenic nose, delicately parted lips, and a clean, smooth cheek. The portrait displays the refined Classicizing style associated with the mint of Olynthos in the mid-fourth century BC. |

| Reverse description | A kithara (lyre) shown frontally in the centre of the field, with six clearly delineated strings stretched between its arms and a crossbar at the top; the instrument rests on a broad, slightly curved base with ornate scroll-shaped lateral arms. The ethnic legend ΧΑΛΚΙΔΕΩΝ is disposed around the upper and lateral field, while the magistrate's name in the genitive, ΕΠΙ ΛΕΑΔΕΟΣ, appears in the lower exergual area below the instrument. The composition is bold and well-centred, making full use of the flan, with the legend and type in crisp, deeply impressed letters and relief typical of late Chalkidean League coinage. |
