Obverse description Celticised laureate and bearded head facing right, rendered in the distinctive Kugelwange ('ball-cheek') style characterised by a prominent, globular cheek and highly schematised facial features. The hair is depicted as a series of bold, sweeping curved strands flowing behind the head, while a laurel wreath sits atop. The beard is suggested by a cluster of pellets at the chin, and the eye is rendered as a raised pellet within a curving socket, reflecting the abstract Celtic transformation of the original Macedonian Hellenistic prototype.
