| Obverse description | Laureate head of Apollo facing left, rendered in fine Classical style with flowing wavy hair gathered at the nape. The youthful, idealised effigy displays sharply defined facial features including a straight nose, full lips, and a prominent brow. A wreath of laurel leaves is set upon the head, with individual leaves rendered in high relief. The flan is broad and slightly convex, with the portrait occupying the full field in the manner characteristic of fourth-century Pontic coinage. |

| Reverse description | An upright anchor — the civic emblem of Apollonia Pontika — is prominently displayed at centre, its stock rendered horizontally at top and its flukes splayed symmetrically at the base. To the left of the shank appears the magistrate's name KΩΛΩTHΣ in Greek letters, and to the right the letter A; a crayfish (astacus) is depicted to one side as an additional symbol. The entire design is recessed within a shallow incuse square, a hallmark of early Pontic tetradrachm coinage, lending the reverse a distinctive archaic character. |
