| Reverse description | A crab rendered frontally in high relief dominates the central field, its carapace finely detailed and its eight legs symmetrically splayed, conveying naturalistic vitality — the longstanding civic emblem of Kos. Beneath the crab appears a club, the attribute of Herakles, rendered horizontally. The entire design is enclosed within a square border of dots (dotted square incuse). Above the crab in the upper field runs the ethnic legend ΚΩΙΟΝ, and below the crab the magistrate's name ΚΙΔΑΡΙΔΑΣ is inscribed, identifying this issue to the magistracy of Kidaridas. |
