Obverse description Diademed head of the deified Alexander the Great facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with flowing, tousled hair swept back from the brow. A small ram's horn of Ammon curls just above and behind the ear, signifying Alexander's divine association with Zeus-Ammon. The portrait is finely modelled with individualized facial features and a slightly upward gaze characteristic of royal Hellenistic imagery. A beaded border encircles the coin field.
