| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander III right, rendered in the heroic Lysimachean portrait tradition, with flowing, elaborately curled hair swept back from the forehead. The short horn of Ammon, symbol of divine association with Zeus-Ammon, curls prominently above the right ear. The portrait displays the characteristic upward tilt and slightly parted lips associated with the idealized Alexander type, executed with refined Hellenistic craftsmanship. The field is plain, with the design filling the flan to its edges. |
