Reverse description Athena Nikephoros seated left upon a throne, clad in chiton and aegis, extending her right hand to present a Nike who crowns the royal legend, while her left arm rests upon a large round shield decorated with a lion's head boss. A long transverse spear leans against her left shoulder. The legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ runs in two lines framing the figure, identifying this as coinage struck in the name of King Lysimachus. A civic monogram appears in the left field, serving as a mint control mark for the Byzantion issue.
