| Obverse description | Youthful beardless head of Heracles in right-facing profile, wearing the Nemean lion-skin headdress, with the scalp knotted at the throat and the forepaws draped across the neck. The facial features are rendered with fine Hellenistic naturalism, conveying both heroic strength and idealized youth, widely understood as a portrait allusion to Alexander the Great. A fine dotted border frames the design around the periphery of the flan. |
