| Reverse description | Zeus Aetophoros enthroned left upon a stool-throne with footstool, his body draped from the waist, holding an eagle on his outstretched right hand and a long sceptre upright in his left. The reverse legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the upper right field. In the left field, a monogram appears above a rose — the civic badge of Rhodes — while the ethnic abbreviation ΡΟ is inscribed below the throne, identifying the Rhodian mint authority. The composition follows the canonical type established by Alexander III, faithfully reproduced by this posthumous issue. |
