| Obverse description | Youthful head of Heracles facing right, depicted beardless and wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress with the scalp drawn over the crown and the paws knotted at the throat. The portraiture is rendered in the confident Hellenistic style characteristic of early posthumous Alexandrine coinage, with finely detailed facial features and naturalistic musculature of the lion skin visible along the cheek and jaw. A beaded border frames the design. |
