Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a backless throne, his body draped from the waist, the right arm extended and supporting an eagle with closed wings, and the left hand resting on a tall upright sceptre. A thunderbolt symbol appears in the left field as a mint control mark. The reverse legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right side of the field, identifying the coin as issued in the name of Alexander. The composition is bold and well-centred, consistent with the early Pella mint production under Alexander III.
