Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a backless throne, his nude torso depicted in three-quarter view; he extends his right hand forward bearing an eagle with spread wings, while his left hand rests on a tall sceptre. In the left field, a Boeotian shield appears as a control symbol; in the exergue, a thyrsus serves as a secondary control mark. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs downward along the right field. The composition reflects the canonical reverse type established under Alexander III and continued posthumously at the Pella mint.
