Obverse description Youthful head of Herakles in right profile, depicted with idealized Lysippan features, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress with the scalp drawn over the crown and the forepaws knotted at the throat. The bold, high-relief portrait displays finely rendered curling hair visible beneath the lion's mane, with a dotted border encircling the entire field. The sculptural quality of the die work reflects the refined engraving tradition of the Pella mint during the early posthumous series.
