Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a low stool-throne, nude to the waist with a himation draped over his lower body and legs; his outstretched right hand supports an eagle with folded wings, while his left hand grasps a long sceptre. In the left field a Boeotian shield serves as a mint control symbol; beneath the throne a monogram appears as a secondary control mark, and in the exergue a thyrsus is placed horizontally. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs in the right field, reading downward, identifying this issue as struck in the name of Alexander.
