Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left upon a high-backed throne, his upper body nude, lower body draped in himation; his extended right hand holds an eagle perched with wings closed, while his left hand rests upon a tall scepter. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically downward in the right field. A control symbol, a torch or similar device, appears in the upper left field, and a monogram or letter (B) is visible in the exergue beneath the throne. To the lower left of the throne a second control mark is present. The composition is bold and well-struck, characteristic of the posthumous Pella series.
