Obverse description Youthful beardless head of Heracles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress with the scalp knotted beneath the chin, the paws draped over the shoulder. The portrait is rendered in fine high relief characteristic of early Pella mint production, with carefully detailed curling hair visible beneath the lion scalp. The whole is set within a plain border of beads.
