Obverse description Youthful head of Heracles in right profile, beardless, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress with the scalp knotted beneath the chin, the paws draped over the shoulders. The rendering is in the Hellenistic style with finely modeled facial features characteristic of the Alexander-type coinage. A dotted border frames the entire design.

Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a low throne, his right arm outstretched supporting an eagle, his left hand grasping a tall sceptre. In the left field, a civic monogram appears above a left-facing horse head, with a second monogram below. The exergue is decorated with a maeander (key) pattern, a characteristic feature of the Magnesia ad Maeandrum mint. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field.
