Obverse description Head of Herakles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion scalp headdress, rendered in the classical Lysippan tradition characteristic of posthumous Alexandrine coinage. The facial features display a strong, youthful profile with a prominent nose and defined chin. The lion's mane and paws are rendered in fine relief, draping over the hero's head and neck. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, with the design well-centred within a plain field.

Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left, his upper body nude and draped from the waist, holding an eagle perched with wings spread in his extended right hand and a long sceptre upright in his left. In the left field, a monogram (rho with a crossbar) serves as a mint control symbol. The royal legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically along the right field, while the magistrate's name ΔΙΟΝΥΣΙΟΣ appears in the exergue below a ground line. The composition follows the standard posthumous Alexandrine reverse type as catalogued in Price.
