Obverse description Youthful, beardless head of Heracles in right profile, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion, with the beast's gaping jaws framing the brow and the paws knotted at the throat. The portrait is rendered in fine Hellenistic relief, with delicately modeled facial features, curling locks escaping beneath the headdress, and a pronounced classical profile characteristic of the Alexander coinage type. The field is plain, with no legend, the entire composition dominated by the heroic bust filling the flan.
