| Obverse description | Youthful beardless head of Heracles in right-facing profile, enveloped in the Nemean lion skin headdress, the scalp drawn over the crown with the forepaws knotted at the neck. The modelling is fine and characterful, with carefully rendered curling locks visible beneath the pelt and a strong, idealized facial profile consistent with the Lysippan portrait tradition associated with Alexander III coinage. |
