Obverse description Youthful, beardless head of Heracles in right profile, rendered with fine Hellenistic detail. The hero is clad in the Nemean lion skin headdress, with the scalp covering the crown and the forelegs knotted loosely at the throat. The modelling of the facial features is bold and naturalistic, with a strong brow, well-defined ear, and slightly parted lips. The field is plain, with no legend, the entire design area dominated by the heroic portrait in high relief.
