Obverse description Heroic head of Herakles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion scalp headdress, the skin's paws knotted at the throat. The portrait is rendered in the vigorous Hellenistic style characteristic of posthumous Alexandrine coinage, with boldly modeled facial features and flowing curls of the lion's mane framing the face. The field is plain, with no legend, consistent with the standard Alexander-type tetradrachm tradition.

Reverse description Zeus Aetophoros enthroned left, his torso nude and lower body draped, holding an eagle perched on his extended right hand and a long scepter in his left. The throne is visible beneath the figure, and a cult image or forepart of a lion appears in the lower left field as a control symbol. The mint monogram (M or similar) is positioned in the left field. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs downward along the right field.
