Obverse description Youthful bare head of Heracles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress with the scalp knotted beneath the chin, the open jaws and mane rendered in high relief with finely engraved detail. The portrait is executed in the idealised Lysippan tradition, with delicate facial features, almond-shaped eye, and slightly parted lips. The lion's paws are knotted at the neck. The field is plain, with no legend or inscription on the obverse.
