| Obverse description | Youthful head of Heracles in right profile, beardless, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion, the gaping jaws framing the forehead and the paws knotted at the throat. The modelling is rendered in high relief with finely articulated musculature visible at the neck, exhibiting the vigorous Hellenistic die-cutting characteristic of the Amphipolis mint. The field is smooth and uninscribed, with no legend present on this side. |

| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a low stool-throne, his nude torso turned slightly forward; he extends his right hand to support an eagle with closed wings, while his left hand grasps a tall upright sceptre. In the left field, a thunderbolt symbol serves as a mint control mark. Beneath the throne, a monogram identifies the issuing magistrate or workshop. The reverse legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs to the right of the enthroned figure, rendered in the standard Greek majuscule script of the period. |
