| Obverse description | Youthful, beardless head of Heracles in right-facing profile, clad in the Nemean lion skin headdress, the scalp secured atop the cranium with the lion's jaws framing the hero's brow. The curling locks of hair emerge beneath the pelt, rendered with fine detail typical of late fourth-century Macedonian die engraving. The portrait displays strong, idealized facial features with a prominent nose and sensitively modeled eye, evoking the heroic guise associated with Alexander the Great. A beaded border encircles the design within the coin's irregular flan. |
