| Obverse description | Youthful head of Heracles facing right, depicted beardless with idealized features in the Hellenistic style, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion, the jaws framing the crown of the head and the pelt flowing behind. The lion skin headdress is rendered with fine detail, the claws knotted at the throat. The portrait fills the flan boldly, with no legend or inscription in the field, consistent with posthumous Alexandrine coinage. |
