Obverse description Heroic portrait of the deified Alexander III facing right, depicted with the elephant-scalp headdress symbolizing his conquest of India, the curl of the Ammon ram's horn visible at the temple, and a scaly aegis draped around the neck — iconographic elements introduced under early Ptolemaic authority to associate Alexander with divine kingship. The portrait is rendered in a vigorous Hellenistic style with strongly modeled facial features. The field is plain and unlettered.

Reverse description Full-length figure of Athena Alkidemos striding energetically to the right, her right arm raised and extended forward to hurl a spear, while her left arm thrusts outward bearing a large round shield. She wears a crested Corinthian helmet and a chiton with aegis. In the right field, an eagle with closed wings stands facing right atop a thunderbolt, serving as an early Ptolemaic dynastic emblem. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ appears in the field, attributing the issue to Alexander.
