Obverse description Youthful head of Heracles facing right, depicted beardless, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress with the scalp drawn over the crown and the lion's jaws framing the face. The hair falls in tight curls along the temples and nape, rendered with finely detailed engraving characteristic of the posthumous Alexandrine tradition. The facial features are idealized and of high relief, conveying a portrait conflated with the heroic image of Alexander III. No legend or inscription appears on the obverse.
