| Obverse description | Head of Herakles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion scalp headdress, the lion's mane rendered in bold flowing locks cascading around the neck and shoulders. The portrait displays the idealized, youthful features characteristic of the Amphipolis mint, with a strong profile, prominent brow, and finely modeled ear visible beneath the pelt. The lion's jaws frame the top of the head, and the overall relief is high and sculptural, consistent with the finest dies of this series. No legend appears on the obverse field. |
