| Reverse description | Owl of Athena standing right with head facing, perched upon a panathenaic amphora. The ethnic A-ΘE appears in the upper field, flanked left and right, with the magistrates' names HPA, APIΣTOΦ, and MENEΔ arranged in three lines across the central field. To the left of the owl appear a club, a lion skin, and a bowcase (symbols of Herakles), arranged vertically. The letter B is inscribed on the amphora, and ΓΛ appears below as a secondary control mark. The entire design is enclosed within an olive wreath, the hallmark border motif of New Style Athenian tetradrachms. |
