Obverse description Right-facing helmeted head of Athena Parthenos rendered in the New Style Athenian tradition, wearing a triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with elaborate floral and vegetal ornament. The hair flows in long, wavy locks beneath the helmet, framing a finely modeled face with a straight nose and slightly parted lips. The helmet visor is raised, revealing the goddess's profile in high relief. The workmanship reflects the refined engraving style characteristic of late second-century BC Athenian coinage.
