| Obverse description | Central type of the cistophoric coinage: a cista mystica depicted in three-quarter view, its lid ajar, from which an erect serpent emerges and coils around the basket. The entire design is enclosed within a dense ivy wreath composed of leaves, clusters of grapes, and twisting vines rendered in high relief, a hallmark of the Hellenistic cistophoric series. The field is plain and uninscribed. The composition follows the standardized obverse type established for cistophoroi throughout the cities of western Asia Minor. |
