Obverse description Diademed and bearded head of Euthydemos I facing right, rendered in a vigorous Hellenistic portrait style with pronounced facial features including a strong brow, broad nose, and fleshy chin. The royal diadem is tied around the head with the ends falling behind the neck, its detail clearly articulated. The hair is rendered in thick, wavy locks swept behind the ear, consistent with the mature portraiture style associated with this ruler. The portrait is set within a beaded border, occupying most of the flan, and displays the bold, naturalistic characterization typical of Bactrian royal coinage of the late 3rd century BC.
