| Obverse description | Heroic draped and cuirassed bust of Eukratides I facing right, wearing a crested Boeotian helmet adorned with a bull's ear and horn. The king's youthful, clean-shaven effigy is rendered in high relief in the Hellenistic artistic tradition, with fine details visible in the facial features and musculature. His right hand is raised toward the shoulder, gripping a spear. Radiating lines in the left field suggest a divine or solar association, enhancing the regal iconography of the portrait. |
