Obverse description Cista mystica depicted as a wicker basket with a partially open lid, from which a serpent emerges and coils upward to the left. The entire design is enclosed within a thick ivy wreath composed of leaves and prominent round berries arranged around the circumference. The rendering is characteristic of the Hellenistic cistophoric coinage tradition, with bold, deeply struck relief typical of the western Anatolian mints.
